His Beatitude celebrates his 50th anniversary of his ordination as a priest

Today, Sunday, July 25 2021 His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, celebrates his ordination as a priest 50 years ago, in 1971.

From 1971 to 1972 His Beatitude was Vice Dean of the Armenian Theological Seminary.
From 1972 to 1973 he served the Armenian Church in Geneva, Switzerland.
In the year 1973 he became Archimandrite (Vardapet)
From 1974 he served the Armenian Church in Jaffa and Haifa.
In 1976 he became the Dean of the Armenian Theological Seminary.
In 1979 he served the Armenian Church as parish priest of the Armenian Community in Almelo, the Netherlands.
From 1982 he studied Theology at the General Theological Seminary in New York, and graduated with a MA in 1985.

In the year 1998 he was elected Grand Sacristan of the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem
and in 1999 he was ordained a Bishop.
In 2000 he was ordained an Archbishop.

In 2013 His Beatitude was elected as the 97th Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.
In 2014 His Beatitude received the Honorary Doctoral Degree from the General Theological Seminary in New York.

We congratulate His Beatitude with his 50th anniversary since his ordination as priest
and wish him many more years in good health.
