On Monday April 26th, 2021 the Armenian Patriarchate Parking ceremony took place at 3.30 pm in the afternoon.
His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem opened the ceremony with a speech. The director of the Real Estate Department of the Armenian Patriarchate, the very reverend Father Baret Yeretzian, as well as the director of the Accounting office, the very reverend Father Samuel Aghoian were present at the ceremony. The Mayor of the city of Jerusalem, Mr. Moshe Lion gave the second speech.
After the speeches of His Beatitude and the Mayor, they together cut the ribbon to mark the official opening.
The director of the Ministry of Antiquities Dr. Amit Ra’am explained about the discoveries made in the parking lot during its construction, archaeological excavations revealed mosaics, remnants of buildings and the large stone khatchkar (cross-stone).
The cermony was followed by a small reception.
