Welcome to the official site of the Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
This is the home of the Brotherhood of St. James, a monastic order of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem is His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian.

The Armenian Patriarchate is located within the Armenian Monastery of St. James, in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Under the authority of the Patriarchate fall amongst others the St. James Cathedral, the Monastery of the Holy Archangels, the Sts. Tarkmanchatz school, the Armenian Theological Seminary, the Gulbenkian Library, the Armenian Museum, the Jinishian Clinic, the bookstore, and the oldest, and still operative, Printing Press in the Holy Land.

    We would like to come to Jerusalem and to visit the armenian monastery.
    Could you confirm us the dates of the holly week for 2017.

      Holy Week 2017 is in week 15: Palm Easter is on April 9, Maundy Thursday is on April 13, Good Friday on April 14, Holy Fire Saturday on April 15 and Easter on April 16.

    I will be visiting Israel this coming November and plan to tour Jerusalem on Nov. 4, 5, 10 and 11. On one of the days I would be most grateful for the opportunity to visit the Church of St. James, especially during a service. Would this be possible?

    • Dear Ms Wiger-Grohs,
      the Cathedral of St. James is open during Liturgies only. Every afternoon from 15.00- 15.30 are Vespers; we invite you cordially to participate.

        Thank you for answering to all the questions posted here, I am planning a trip to Jerusalem and I am very much looking forward to attend service at St James Church, I have heard that is an emotional, spiritual experience, now, thanks to your replies, I know to be there at 15hrs thank you !!
